What Is Bruce Jenner’s Female Name? He’s Still Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Bruce Jenner has allegedly chosen a female name after coming out as transgender last month, sources say. Although months ago it was reported by the Inquisitr that the new name would be Belinda, In Touch Weekly reports that he chose his new moniker to fit in with the rest of the “K” members: He’s now Kaitlyn Jenner.

The 65-year-old former decathlon athlete, known to the world as Bruce Jenner before his decision to become a woman, was married to Kris Kardashian whose children all begin with “K”: Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie — the tradition continues as Bruce wanted something “feminine yet classy” and something that apparently fit with his family’s naming preferences.

Although his family and most of Hollywood have been supportive of Jenner during his coming out and transition process, it has no doubt been difficult to get used to his different persona and now a new name. Bruce has said he prefers that the press still refer to him as “he” and “him.” It may be difficult to continue to do that once he is known officially as Kaitlyn.

With rumors of a sex change complete, he’s been seen out and about sporting dresses, makeup, and long hair. It is unclear if the name change has been official or if Bruce simply is calling herself Kaitlyn for now. However, other sources say that there has been no official anything — Bruce has not even had surgery yet and still has male genitalia.

In his now-famous interview with Diane Sawyer, he said he’s still the same person he’s always been, but now he is being honest with himself and the world.

“I’m saying goodbye to people’s perception of me and who I am. But I’m not saying goodbye to me. This has always been me.”

Jenner has been known as the world’s “greatest athlete” due to his outstanding performances in the U.S. Olympics. He then went on to be in the public eye after marrying the very wealthy Kris Kardashian, from whom he is now divorced, although the couple remains great friends. Rumors flew for a while before Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer, and apparently his family, including stepdaughters Kim and Khloe, knew that he identified as a woman and that he had even tried on their clothing.

It remains to be seen how and when the public will react to Jenner’s new name and if they will easily adjust to calling him Kaitlyn. It will also be interesting to see if he wants the pronouns “she” and “her” used to describe him since he has claimed a female name.
