Tia Shorts, Former Miss Maryland USA, Arrested In Drug Bust
Tia Shorts, a model who’s held the title of Miss Maryland USA, is under arrest on drug-related charges. Police arrested Shorts, 29, in Germantown, Maryland last week.
Tia Shorts Arrested
Investigators say Tia Shorts was inside a home being monitored for suspected illegal drug dealing, according to local media outlets. Officers say they arrested three people coming out of the apartment, then went inside and found Shorts along with drugs, cash, and ammunition.
Tia Shorts was identified by police as living at the apartment in question. She’s accused of using the home to sell drugs along with her boyfriend. She is now charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana. Shorts was released in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Tia Shorts was crowned Miss Maryland USA in 2004. She went on to compete in the Miss USA tournament while holding the Maryland title. Officials from the Miss Maryland USA organization tell local media outlets they “lost touch” with Shorts after her crown was passed on.
