‘Teen Mom’ Maci Bookout Gives Birth Two Weeks Early
Late last year, Maci Bookout announced that she was pregnant with her second child. Fans were surprised and excited to learn that the Teen Mom OG star and her boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, were expecting their first child together, Maci’s second. At the time she made the announcement, she revealed her due date was June 12, a day that is nearly two weeks away. However, like her co-star Catelynn Lowell, Maci ended up giving birth earlier than her due date, and on Friday, Jayde Carter was born.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup was the first site to speculate that the reality show star was in labor. Many of Maci’s friends took to the social networking site early on Friday to send Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney “good vibes” while the couple remained quiet on the social networking site. That is until Maci made the big announcement!
Although she and Taylor settled on the name Jayde for their baby girl, it took them awhile to decide on one. In fact, she was originally thinking of a name that was similar to that of her son, Bentley. The couple liked the names June and Harley but realized that if they named their daughter Harley, it may have been “too many automobile” sounding names. Although it hasn’t been confirmed by the reality show star, it seems that she may be a fan of June Carter, the late country singer, seeing as how she initially liked the name June but then settled on the middle name Carter. However, this is just speculation, and the name could just be a coincidence.
After giving birth, Taylor McKinney sent out a tweet, and it seems that he is quite excited to be a dad. Fans have watched Taylor spend time with Bentley on the new season of Teen Mom OG. Although he hadn’t had any kids of his own before meeting Maci, he has proven to be good with Bentley.
Upon hearing the news, some of Maci’s co-stars sent her well-wishes via the social networking site. Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra welcomed their daughter, Nova, this past January and were the first to tweet congratulations to Maci and Taylor.
One co-star who has not yet said anything about Maci giving birth is Farrah Abraham. The two have not been getting along, and Maci even threatened to quit the MTV show over Farrah’s return. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Farrah recently took a jab at Maci’s parenting. In the end, Maci Bookout decided to stay on the show, but she will not let her son be filmed. If another season is announced, it is unclear if Maci will also shield her newborn from the MTV cameras.
