Bruce Jenner Transition: Kim Kardashian’s Bestie Jonathan Cheban Calls Bruce ‘The Belle Of The Ball’

Now that Bruce Jenner has publicly come out and discussed his gender transition, others close to him have been able to talk more freely about it. Jonathan Cheban, a close friend of Kim Kardashian, recently opened up about dealing with all the secrecy from family members and not knowing what to say about the rumors that were surfacing.

“It was weird,” Cheban explained to Us Weekly during the Club Life premiere. “I was like, I can’t lie to my mom anymore ’cause it’s weird. Pictures of Bruce with nail polish on them. I just didn’t know what to say.”

Since announcing his change in gender during a 20/20 special with Diane Sawyer, Jenner has been able to be more open about his new lifestyle.

“I heard he’s really happier than ever and just… the belle of the ball!” Cheban stated in the interview.

Along with the 20/20 special, Jenner was also featured in a two-part special on Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce. Prior to the specials that centered on Jenner’s change from male to female, Cheban stated he had a hard time getting information out of his best friend, Kim, until he was finally forced to confront her about it.

“When we went on our ski trip, I confronted her because I literally couldn’t lie anymore,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Bruce Jenner is slated to appear in an upcoming series that will document his transformation from male to female. Although the series has not been given a title yet, the show will premiere July 26 on E!

In other Kardashian news, reports surfaced earlier today that Rob Kardashian had entered rehab for alcohol, marijuana, and codeine cough syrup abuse. Momager Kris Jenner quickly shot the rehab rumors down and called the stories “completely fabricated.”

While dealing with his transition and his family, Bruce has also had to deal with a lawsuit that was filed against him after his fatal car accident in February.

The victim’s stepchildren had filed the wrongful death suit against the Olympian. While Jenner and his lawyers express their sympathies about the “terrible tragedy” that resulted in Kim Howe’s death, they do not think that he should be financially responsible, according to ABC News.

“We … continue to express sincerest sympathies for the friends and family of Kimberly Howe…. The plaintiffs’ lack of standing to file this case is no comment at all upon their grief or affection. It is merely a statement of law,” his lawyers said in a statement.

Catch Bruce Jenner and the rest of the Kardashians on Sunday nights on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
