Want To Date Ed Sheeran? There’s Hope

After splitting from girlfriend Athina Andrelos in February, Ed Sheeran is on the lookout for a lovely lady to take her place. But Sheeran has admitted one thing about the type of woman that he does want, and it’s good news for millions of women everywhere.

According to Kingston Region, Sheeran admitted to some pals that he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with anyone famous.

Sheeran’s friend said, “Ed doesn’t want a famous girlfriend, he just wants someone down to earth and normal to share his life with.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sheeran shared, “I think the thing that’s impossible to do is date someone that isn’t aware that I make music. So whether they’re a fan or not, that changes people’s perceptions of you. I don’t really date people in my sphere.”

So, while Sheeran is looking for someone maybe a little more down to earth and not in his sphere, his friends are more than willing to help him find his next girlfriend.

Kingston Region shared that the reason his friends are so willing to help is because “they weren’t fans of Athina.”

“Ed’s mates weren’t too keen on Athina and weren’t disappointed when they split after the BRIT Awards,” added the source.

And since they are so happy that Sheeran has split from Athina, they’re trying to match him up so as he can’t get back together with her again.

“It’s very unlikely they’ll be getting back together. His friends want to set him up with a new girl and have their eye on a few people they’ve mentioned to him but he’s very picky for obvious reasons.”

Sheeran of course wants to be careful picking his next girlfriend due to his rising celebrity. The “Don’t” singer appeared on Good Morning America‘s concert series on Friday, after performing in Queens, New York Thursday night as part of “a mostly sold out tour,” says the Rolling Stone. Sheeran performed some of his biggest hits along with a cover of 50 Cent’s “In Da Club.”

And if selling out venues and performing for millions of screaming fans wasn’t enough, Sheeran now has his own wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s in New York City.

So while Ed Sheeran is busy performing and posing with his own wax figure, his friends will be helping the singer/songwriter find his next down-to-earth girlfriend.
