Lil Mama ‘Sausage’ Video Debut On WorldStarHipHop Brings 1.7 Million Views And Fire: #SausageMovement Goes Mainstream With Condom Warnings [Video]

Now that you’re hip to the whole “Sausage” song phenomena, you’ll understand why the fact that Lil Mama recording a hot-as-fire video about the “eggs, bacon, grits, sausage” movement is a big thing.

The Lil Mama “Sausage” video was uploaded to WorldStarHipHop on May 28, and by Friday morning on May 29, it had swelled to more than 1.7 million views. Her version of the popular “Sausage” chant has been shared on Facebook more than 24,000 times.

Indeed, 25-year-old Lil Mama — aka Niatia Jessica Kirkland — burst onto the music scene in 2008 with her bumping “Lip Gloss” song from her first album, titled VYP (Voice of the Young People).

Lil Mama was also tapped for the role of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes from the musical group TLC in the movie called CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story from VH1 in October, 2013. The actress and singer won raves for her on-point portrayal of the fiery Lopes, who famously dated Andre Rison and tragically died in a car crash.

Now that Lil Mama is back with “Sausage” — a video also published to YouTube on May 28, which has received 123,861 views therein and counting — folks are raving about her dancing and rhyming skills in the viral video. For her part, Lil Mama at least tries to warn young people away from taking a “sausage” by at least practicing safe sex — without mentioning the truest form of safe sex of abstinence.

“Eggs, bacon, grits… you better use a condom if you’re taking that [sausage].”

Nevertheless, the official WorldStarHipHop premiere of Lil Mama’s “Sausage” music video is certainly causing her name to become a trending topic on Twitter. A plethora of opinions about the video are surfacing on social media.

Also, Lil Mama’s version of the “Sausage” song pays homage to so many other popular artists and their anthems, including Big Sean’s “I Don’t F With You,” Madonna’s “Vogue,” and more. It is apropos that the younger artist would pay tribute to the Material Girl and others because the “Sausage” video features lots of on-fire dancing and footage of fans “getting it in” all around the amazing Lil Mama.
