Lori Loughlin Returns In ‘Fuller House,’ Says ‘It’s Hard To Go Wrong’

Fuller House, the Full House spin-off, will be even fuller with the addition of Lori Loughlin, who has agreed to reprise her role as Aunt Becky from the original series.

Ms. Loughlin said in an interview that she was looking forward to reuniting with former Full House co-stars, many of whom have since become longtime friends.

“Doing that show was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had,” Lori told People. “It was just so much fun.”

Ms. Loughlin admits that spin-offs of this nature have the ability to go wrong, but Lori says that she doubts that will happen with Fuller House. Loughlin credits the return of many familiar faces, both behind and in front of the camera, for her faith in Fuller House‘s eventual success.

“I think with Jeff Franklin at the helm – he’s the creator of Full House – it’s hard to go wrong because nobody’s more protective of that show than he is,” Lori said. “That’s his baby.”

Lori admitted in another interview that she was very excited about the Fuller House project, which will debut on Netflix next year.

“I’m very excited,” Loughlin said. “It’s going to be really great to be back with the whole cast. It’ll be a lot of fun.”

News earlier this month that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who had shared the role of Michelle Tanner, would not be returning was the only thing that seemed to dampen Ms. Loughlin’s spirits in regard to the Fuller House spin-off series.

“We would’ve loved it [if they had returned], but I understand.”

Fuller House will star Candace Cameron Bure as D.J. Tanner-Fuller, a pregnant and newly-widowed mother of two, who invites her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) to move in with her and help her raise the children.

Ms. Loughlin has said that she will join John Stamos, who together played Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky, in a limited capacity. Lori says the couple will appear in the two-hour premiere episode of Fuller House “and maybe… pop up here and there” throughout the scheduled 13-episode run.

When news of the Full House spin-off was first made public, Ms. Loughlin responded to initial questions about her return with guarded caution.

“I need to have a deal that’s fair,” she said in a Daily News interview. “We’ve been in negotiations and I’m confident that can be reached.”

Dave Coulier and Bob Saget are also scheduled to appear in unspecified episodes.

Fuller House is still in pre-production stages, so there is still no word on the premiere date.
