Original ‘Bachelorette’ Couple, Trista And Ryan Sutter, To Launch New HGTV Show
Bachelorette fairy-tale couple Trista and Ryan Sutter are co-hosting a brand new HGTV home renovation show. Rocky Mountain Reno will combine the pair’s love of Colorado and home remodeling, as they help couples turn rugged cabins into dream homes.
Us Weekly reports that Trista and Ryan are excited to show a different side of themselves. Trista looks forward to showcasing her firefighter husband’s “mountain man” side and remodeling skills. Trista says Ryan, who holds a degree in architecture, will take a very hands-on approach as they guide couples through the makeovers.
“He’s a true Colorado mountain man, which is part of the reason why I love him. He’s literally chopping down trees! We’re so excited to show people a side of us they haven’t seen before. It’ll be fun for people to see Ryan’s personality shine.”
Trista Sutter says what sets their show apart is their focus on the family-friendly nature of their beloved home state of Colorado, which she feels is what many people move there for. That is something Trista can relate to as a mom of two, son Max and daughter Blakesley, who says there is no other place for her family.
“We want to focus on what people would come to Colorado for. People come here wanting to start a family. As a mom, I wouldn’t want to raise my kids anywhere else — it’s such a beautiful community with lots of support.”
According to HGTV, in Episode 1, Ryan and Trista Sutter will be helping parents-to-be David and Rachel choose between three rustic homes that need some TLC. The couple has been living out of David’s office for a year in order to save up to purchase their very own scenic Colorado home. While the buyers are open to Ryan and Trista’s ideas, their main concern is that they stay close to their work. In the end, they hope to transform a fixer-upper into the perfect family home with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.
Rocky Mountain Reno will premier Sunday, May 31, at 12 p.m. ET on HGTV. The former Bachelorette shares her excitement about the pilot, and hopes HGTV viewers welcome them with open arms.

It looks like home renovation is just one of Ryan’s many talents. Earlier this month, Trista gushed on Twitter about her hubby baking a fresh batch of homemade coconut chocolate chip cookies. It’s apparent the sparks still fly between the two so many years after Trista offered Ryan her final rose on The Bachelorette. The happy couple celebrated their 12th anniversary in December.
