WWE News: Real Reason Why Randy Orton’s Being Kept Off WWE TV Revealed

Randy Orton hasn’t been on WWE TV screens since the WWE Payback pay-per-view. During the WWE championship match, Orton took a lot of punishment from Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. In fact, the WWE teased a Shield reunion when the former-Shield members lifted up Orton for their triple-powerbomb finisher.

Therefore, when Orton was done with the match, WWE fans assumed he was injured. The rumors intensified after Orton’s absence from WWE Raw two weeks in a row. As it seemed, Randy Orton’s feud with the Authority looked complete.

In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, another rumor circulated the internet that included Randy Orton winning the Intercontinental championship at the Elimination Chamber this Sunday. There’s a small chance Orton can shop up at the WWE Network special, but Orton isn’t even advertised for WWE Raw the night after.

According to Ringside News, the real reason Randy Orton’s been off WWE TV is finally revealed.

“WWE has decided to keep both Randy Orton and The Big Show off WWE television recently because neither Superstar is booked for matches at this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber event.

“Randy Orton is being advertised for the June 8th episode of RAW and the SmackDown tapings the following night. Both Superstars are expected to have roles leading into the Money in the Bank event.”

Orton became a fixture of WWE programming during his feud with Seth Rollins and the Authority. After being written off WWE TV for many months, he returned to feud with Rollins once again. That led to the fatal-four way match at WWE Payback against the former-Shield members and Orton. Included in the report is the involvement of Randy Orton at Money in the Bank, which takes place next month.

Even without Randy Orton or the Big Show, Elimination Chamber is bound to be a great WWE Network special. Here’s the match card:

  • Kevin Owens vs. John Cena.
  • Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
  • Nikki Bella vs. Naomi vs. Paige for the WWE Divas championship.
  • Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Tag-Team championship.
  • Elimination Chamber match for the Intercontinental championship.
  • Neville vs. Bo Dallas.

Each match on the card has the potential to steal the show. Most likely, the Elimination Chamber matches are going to bring the WWE Universe off their feet, due to the special nature of the match. Everyone that follows WWE NXT is excited for Owens and Cena, just because of Owens’ popularity right now. There’s a chance Randy Orton can make a comeback, but the EC match is the only place it makes sense.
