Ellie Goulding Bursts Into Song At Ben Lovett’s Wedding In True ‘Love Actually’ Moment

Ellie Goulding starred in a true Love Actually moment over the weekend when she burst into song along with the other three hundred guests at Ben Lovett’s wedding to Jemima Janney.

Before we go on, in case you’re not familiar with the famous Love Actually wedding scene, take a moment to get up to speed here.

The Mirror reported that Ben Lovett’s wedding to Jemima Janney took place in Devon over the weekend, and Ellie Goulding and Carey Mulligan were two of the three hundred guests in attendance.

As a surprise for the new bride, Ben Lovett organized for all three hundred guests to take part in a surprise musical performance. Ellie Goulding, who is used to performing at major events after singing at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 2011, joined other celebrity guests, including the Magnetic Zeros, Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe, and Matt Berninger from the National, the Daily Mail reported.

Ben Lovett chose Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me” as the song that Ellie Goulding and the others were to perform. As a wedding guest told the Mirror, the wedding guests were divided into groups to perform the surprise musical number for the new bride.

“All of Ben’s friends are really musical, so the end result was incredible. He split the wedding party into five groups including ukulele players, harmonicas, drums and male and female singers.”

We’re again picturing that scene from Love Actually, with the different instrumental groups standing up and joining in at different times.

This is not the first time that Ben Lovett and Ellie Goulding have collaborated, with fans of both performers having nothing but positive comments to say about their previous collaborations.

Though for those fans who held hopes of a romantic relationship between Ellie Goulding and Ben Lovett, presumably the fact of Ellie Goulding singing at Ben Lovett’s wedding will finally put an end to all that.

Here’s Ellie Goulding’s version of the original Elton John’s “Your Song” that she performed at the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, which was the first dance of the evening. Ellie Goulding was specifically asked to sing a cover of Elton John’s famous song, since the original was one of Princess Diana’s favourites, Celebuzz! reported.
