Amber Marchese Gives Cancer Update: ‘It Is Nothing Short Of A Miracle’

Amber Marchese’s breast cancer has not spread. Following the Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s second diagnosis, Marchese underwent a partial mastectomy, and days later, received good news.

As Real Mr. Housewife reported on May 26, Amber Marchese was devastated to discover her breast cancer had returned, but has been staying positive in the weeks since. Most recently, the reality star spoke to PEOPLE Magazine, giving an update on her health.

“The surrounding tissue was not cancerous. It was literally just the tumor that was cancerous. We caught it in the early stages. It is nothing short of a miracle.”

Amber Marchese discovered a lump in her breast while watching a movie with her husband, Jim. A short while later, Marchese underwent testing, which confirmed her worst fear. Luckily, however, the cancer didn’t spread to other parts of her body.

“There’s still a long road ahead of me. I am definitely going to have radiation for the next five weeks. We are still debating whether or not to do chemotherapy.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Amber Marchese revealed her cancer had returned earlier this month. In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Amber Marchese spoke candidly about the emotional strain she felt after learning her breast cancer was back.

“I was just sick to my stomach. I can’t even begin to describe the feeling you get when someone says you have cancer. Then to get it again after you thought you fought it and thought it was behind you … I was thinking, ‘This is definitely it. I’m going to die'”

Amber Marchese joined The Real Housewives of New Jersey for the show’s sixth season, which aired last year on Bravo. She, along with twins Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea, filled the empty spaces left by Caroline Manzo, who went on to star in her own show, and Jacqueline Laurita, who was allegedly fired, but later brought back.

At this point, it is unclear when Bravo will resume filming on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but there have been reports, claiming the show will start taping at some point this year. Also unclear is who will be a part of the cast. As fans are well aware, Teresa Giudice has been behind bars since January 5 and won’t be released from custody until December 23.

Amber Marchese has yet to be confirmed for The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7.
