Jane Fonda, who earned the nickname Hanoi Jane due to her outspoken opposition of the Vietnam War, has been cast as first lady Nancy Reagan in the new movie “The Butler.”

The movie will be based on the life of Eugene Allen, who worked as a butler in the White House for several decades. Allen served as the White House butler for Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan.

Fonda isn’t the only big name to join the cast. Forest Whitaker will be playing the role of Allen. Fox News reports that Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman and Liam Neeson are also attached to the film. Collider reports that Mila Kunis and John Cusack may also join the project.

Fonda retired from acting in 1990 but has slowly been making her way back to the big screen. She made her film comeback in the movie “Monster-In-Law” in 2005. Fonda has been nominated for 7 Academy Awards and has won two. Fonda won the best actress award for her work in “Klute” and “Coming Home.”

Her role in “The Butler” will probably be a small one since the film spans 32-years and 8 presidents.

What do you think of Jane Fonda being cast as Nancy Reagan? Can Hanoi Jane give an accurate portrayal of  the former first lady.

How sickening this treasonous woman is chosen to portray the wife of one of our greatest presidents.
Don't imagine any veterans will be watching this film.

She wasn't just outspoken, Everyone has the right to protest. But she went to Hanoi, hung out with the enemy, and turned in slips of paper with POW's names on them that she was to take back home to their families. Those who are so forgiving, are guilty of her act by approval. Some of those POW's she turned in are probably now, MIA's. You have to live with yourselves, in your own liberal fantasy wet dream's.
