Kevin Owens made an impact on WWE Raw last week. The WWE NXT champion answered John Cena’s weekly U.S. Open Challenge in an unorthodox way. There wasn’t a wrestling match but rather a beatdown of the United States champion and 15-time WWE champion. Give credit to John Cena — he put over Owens on the WWE’s flagship program.
Since WWE Raw last week, Owens has gone to many subtle levels to enhance the feud with John Cena. First off, he wore Cena’s shirt to NXT Takeover: Unstoppable last week. Owens also pushed the feud on social media. The next step would be to show up on WWE Raw tonight and confront Cena once again.
In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, the rumor that John Cena was going to confront Kevin Owens tonight on WWE Raw caught traction. After the cliffhanger WWE officials left with the fans last week, there needs to be closure before Elimination Chamber this Sunday on the WWE Network.
According to Daily Wrestling News, a rumor is going around that Kevin Owens may show up on WWE Raw tonight.
“We noted before that it was unknown if WWE NXT Champion Kevin Owens would be on tonight’s RAW or not but we now know he is indeed backstage. Owens will be there to hype Sunday’s match with United States Champion John Cena at Elimination Chamber.”
Owens is getting a big opportunity from WWE. Not only does Triple H believe in him, but a lot of other important people believe in him too. Owens wouldn’t be in this situation without support from the higher-ups. From an analyst’s perspective, Kevin Owens deserves everything the WWE’s gave him.
While his work in WWE NXT has continued to be spectacular, Owens carries the WWE NXT banner proudly. Among him are excellent peers such as Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Hideo Itami. Owens is not done surprising people. If the report of him backstage at WWE Raw is true, there will be another shining moment for the NXT champion.
Owens is not the only WWE NXT standout behind the scenes at WWE Raw tonight. Charlotte, the former NXT Women’s champion, is reportedly backstage tonight at WWE Raw. There’s a chance that she will debut on the WWE’s main roster. In the past few weeks, Zayn and Owens have made big impacts on the WWE Universe. Is Charlotte going to be the next?
