Ray McDonald Arrest: NFLer Arrested Again For Domestic Violence, Third Time In Nine Months
Ray McDonald’s arrest has come as a bit of a shock to his fans as they found out that the NFLer was arrested again on domestic violence charges.
McDonald, the Chicago Bears defensive end, was reportedly arrested at approximately 7 a.m. local time on Monday in San Jose. He was booked at the Santa Clara County Jail and is being charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment, according to ESPN.
According to the police, Ray allegedly “physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby.” The authorities were called to a home in Santa Clara, but McDonald had already left. He was found at another home in the city approximately three hours later. That home is reportedly owned by his ex-49ers teammate Justin Smith.
MSN Sports reports McDonald signed a one-year contract with the Bears this offseason after he spent the first eight years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. This latest accusation makes three domestic assault incidents for the NFLer in the past nine months. He was arrested and charged last year, but the charges were later dropped and the NFL cleared him on any wrongdoing. McDonald is still involved in an ongoing investigation into claims that he sexually assaulted a woman. So far, no charges have been filed, and McDonald says he plans to sue his accuser.
Consequently, the Chicago Bears have released McDonald from the team. They released a statement Monday afternoon concerning Ray’s arrest, according to the New York Times.
“We believe in second chances, but when we signed Ray, we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a Bear,” General Manager Ryan Pace said in the statement. “He was not able to meet the standard, and the decision was made to release him.”
Ray’s fans and fellow teammates have taken to social media to react to his latest arrest. You can read some of their reactions below.

Jason McKie thinks it's a good idea Ray McDonald beat his wife now and not into the season when it would have been a real distraction

If you look up the word 'scumbag' in the dictionary, Ray McDonald's picture should be right next to it. Disgusting.

Ray McDonald just confirms what I have learned through my reporting…some people are just bad people. Not a "culture," just bad people.
