Dog Found Hanging From A Rope At Sports Complex — Who Abused Her?

A young dog was found hanging from a rope at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Arizona, left there to die a lonely death, suffering. Her abuser is yet to be found. The one-to-two-year-old mixed breed dog suffered greatly. She has been named Sunny, and has been receiving medical treatment at the Pima Animal Care Center. It’s one of the worst cases of abuse that they’ve seen in the last year. Dr. Jennifer Wilcox stated the following about the poor dog’s horrendous condition when she was rescued, according to KGUN Channel 9.

“Her face is extremely swollen. Her eyes are swollen shut and she does look like she has brain trauma based on the fact that her pupils aren’t the same size. She has some pretty significant injuries. We’re optimistic. But we’ll have to take it day by day to know for sure.”

Sunny is recovering in a caring foster home for now and will be adopted out when she is healthy enough, according to the National Dog News Examiner. Anyone interested in contributing to Sunny’s care can click this link to donate to Pima Animal Care Center.

The Tucson police department is investigating whoever did this heinous act — and the Animal Defense Council is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for hanging the dog. If anyone has information on this incident, they ahould call 88-CRIME. Carmine Cardamone, the Director of the Animal Defense Council said the following, according to KGUN Channel 9.

“Whoever is responsible for this heinous act of animal cruelty should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Unfortunately, the animal shelter sees a flow of abused and neglected animals in need of care. The care center takes in 24,000 homeless animals a year. The vast majority — 75 percent — of them need some type of medical treatment.

Another horrific case of abuse occurred on the dog’s own property. A King’s Mountain, North Carolina, senior beagle named Libby was in her own back yard when she was beheaded. The family had let their three dogs out into their fenced back yard as usual. Unfortunately, when they went to look for Libby in Kings Mountain, a friend of the family found just her lifeless corpse, with no head. Her head is still missing in this bizarre, sick case, according to an article in the Inquisitr.
