WWE News: Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins Are The Favorites To Win The 2016 Royal Rumble

Over the past two years, the Royal Rumble match has disappointed most WWE fans due to Daniel Bryan not winning last year’s Rumble, and due to him not even being in the previous year’s Rumble match. But, as you would expect, WWE is hoping to turn things around at next year’s Royal Rumble event, and — according to the odds — Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar are the favorites to win the 2016 Royal Rumble.

These odds have Rollins as a slight favorite over Brock Lesnar, who will likely be Rollins’ opponent at SummerSlam in August. Most people are expecting Rollins to lose to Lesnar at the event, which would likely require Rollins to win the Royal Rumble to get a rematch. The same can be said if Lesnar loses to Rollins.

The idea of Lesnar winning next year’s Rumble match has been thrown around. In fact, Mark Madden ofWrestleZone appeared on Jim Ross’s podcast last week and threw out the idea of The Authority forcing Lesnar to enter the Royal Rumble as the very first entrant, and eventually having him win the match and go on to beat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

Lesnar could be returning to WWE television as early as next month to begin the build towards SummerSlam. Last year, Lesnar became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by destroying John Cena at SummerSlam, but, the first few months of Lesnar’s title reign were heavily criticized due to Lesnar not being on television. But, it seems that most fans have forgotten about that by now, as they all loved the fact that Lesnar was champion at the end of his reign.

Other notable names that are favorites to win the 2016 Royal Rumble are Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Randy Orton, and Dean Ambrose. It’s unlikely that WWE will have Reigns win the Rumble for the second year in a row due to the negative response that he got this year, but, the fans have been cheering for Reigns as of late, so, it’s possible that WWE could have Reigns win the Rumble again if the fans continue to show their support for him.

There’s a good chance that the loser of the match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam will go on to win the 2016 Royal Rumble match. But, it’s still way too early to tell, as the 2016 Royal Rumble is nearly 8 months away.
