Lady Gaga’s Best Unreleased Collaborations: Paul McCartney, Azealia Banks and Cher?

Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar fans got a rare gift last week when their collaboration, “PartyNauseous,” leaked online. It may seem kind of strange for Mother Monster to hop on a track with one of the hottest rappers in the game right now, but the song is actually just one of many unreleased unlikely collabs that Gaga has done, Music Times reports. These songs have been recorded recently and could make an appearance on future Gaga projects. The list of collaborators include as follows.

Paul McCartney

When Kanye West recently paired up with one of the last living Beatles, a satirical Twitter hashtag sprouted up called “#WhoIsPaulMcCartney,” but Gaga definitely knows who Paul McCartney is. In a recent Instagram post, she revealed that she’s working with Sir Paul. Rumor had it that the reason why the song or songs haven’t been released is because they’re still being produced, meaning that it’s only a matter of time before the Paul McCartney/Lady Gaga track will be heard by the her adoring fans, “the little monsters.” Eventually, news broke in the Guardian that the song was for an animated movie that McCartney is working on called High In The Clouds.

Always a good time with my buddy. I’ll never forget when he called me last year to work and I hung up the phone cuz I thought it was a prank!

Cher

Lady Gaga has looked up to Cher, so it was no surprise when Mother Monster wrote “The Greatest Thing” in 2012. Since then, the song seemed to have disappeared. It was supposed to be on Cher’s 2013 album Closer To The Truth, but it didn’t make it on the track list. Some industry insiders have said that Gaga insisted that the song be released as a joint single rather than a Lady Gaga feature on a Cher song. Others say that Gaga didn’t like the finished project after the production was complete. Both the little monsters and Cher fans missed out on hearing an official release of the song. Luckily, fans can can search and find “The Greatest Thing” on YouTube.

Azealia Banks

Possibly one of the more unlikely potential collaborators on this list, the Azealia Banks/ Lady Gaga collaboration is shrouded in controversy. There were rumors that a team up between the young female rapper and Gaga was supposed to be either on Artpop or Broke With Expensive Taste. As with a lot of Azealia Banks news, everything seemed to fall apart over Twitter. Banks accused Gaga of stealing her mermaid aesthetic, and a song called “Red Flame.” Fast forward another couple months, Artpop drops and the song “Red Flame” isn’t on it, and the song was missing from Banks’ Broke With Expensive Taste. All we know is that is that both Banks and Gaga may have worked on a song called “Red Flame” together. Let’s hope that it surfaces on YouTube in the near future.
