‘Full House’ Launched Olsen Twins’ Career — They Should Find Time For ‘Fuller House,’ But A Lot Of Fans Don’t Want Them Back

Mary Kate and Ashley won’t be back for the new Full House. Netflix is planning a Full House reunion show, Fuller House, and most of the rest of the original cast are on board. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), and Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) said yes, Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are still in talks, and John Stamos, who is producing Fuller House, will be there as Uncle Jesse.

The Twittersphere is showing more than a little bitterness from Full House fans. One fan pointed out that Full House launched Mary Kate and Ashley’s careers, and they should at least find the time to be part of the reunion.

The house might feel full enough without them. John Stamos first said he was “heartbroken” at the news, but later tweeted that Mary Kate and Ashley have a full schedule and are in a different place now.

The Olsen twins do have a full plate. They’re busy with their fashion brands, for instance. But they also haven’t acted in years, not since “their 2004 movie, New York Minute, left theaters in, well, a New York minute.”

Some commenters on a TVline article think it’s just mean of the former Full House child stars to refuse the Fuller House job.

The Bluelady says as follows.

“no appreciation/time for the program which began their climb to fame and wealth.”

Some suggest the Olsen twins are “scary” now, can’t act anyway, and would embarrass themselves on Fuller House.

HAP says as follows.

“Elizabeth is the only sister who actually can act; an excellent actress. I wouldn’t be surprised if the twins thought they might embarrass themselves.”

Kay says as follows.

“It’s fine. They’re scary now-a-days and I say that as someone who owned several Mary-Kate and Ashley videos as a kid. I say recast”

Others never liked the Olsens on Full House and don’t want to see them on Fuller House.

ZhaneEndrick says as follows.

“Am I supposed to be upset that the worst part of the show won’t be revisited?”

Executive producer Robert L. Boyett assured fans that everything is okay with the Full House family. He says they understand that Mary Kate and Ashley need to focus on their business instead of coming back for Fuller House.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family… It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavours. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”

That’s nice of him, but it doesn’t make fans like it any better. The Full House family isn’t complete without Michelle! The Olsen twins could still split the workload, so it would be half as much time for them.

Bob Saget wouldn’t say that he thinks the Olsen twins should come back, but he does say that Full House is a legacy.

“We have a legacy to protect!”

May 21 was the 20th anniversary of the last Full House show. That is a bit of a legacy.

What do you think? Should Mary Kate and Ashley come back for Fuller House?
