‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Will Daryl Dixon Die?

The Walking Dead is no stranger when it comes to putting fan favorite characters on the chopping block, so with Season 6 of the beloved AMC drama setting to air this October, rumors have already begun to surface regarding which characters are at risk to die in the upcoming batch of new episodes.
Despite fans of the The Walking Dead comic book series arguing that the timeline of events from the book not matching up with rumors that Norman Reedus’ character, Daryl Dixon, will die in Season 6, several outlets report that Dixon is a likely candidate to bid farewell to the show in October.
Cinema Blend alleges that rumors of Daryl Dixon’s character being taken off The Walking Dead began soon after Reedus allegedly put his Atlanta home up for sale, with fans reading into the move as a sure sign that Dixon would be the next fan-favorite character to say goodbye to the show. However, Reedus later denied the rumors, insisting that the house in question didn’t even belong to him and rather made room for speculation that it may be Michonne who will be the next to die from the hit drama series.
Instead, Design & Trend reports that the simple fact that Daryl is a fan favorite on The Walking Dead instantly makes him a target to be kicked off of the series in Season 6. Similarly, Robert Kirman, the creator of The Walking Dead comic series, confirmed speculation that a major, beloved character is going to die in the upcoming batch of episodes, seemingly confirming fans’ fears that Dixon is the next to go, seeing as he remains one of the chosen favorites from the series.
Design & Trend also notes that Reedus remains a television exclusive character to The Walking Dead and with Reedus being featured in a prominent role for two upcoming projects scheduled to release this Summer, it’s becoming more likely that this will be his last season with the show.
However, other outlets combat rumors that Dixon will be the beloved character that will perish from The Walking Dead in Season 6.
International Business Times UK alleges that Daryl will be getting a new love interest for the upcoming episodes after reports confirmed that The Walking Dead has been having casting calls for someone to play a woman named Allison.
Cleveland reveals that the character is described as a woman in her “late 20s to early 40s” who is a “charming psychologist who quickly turns awkward and messy when it comes to her personal life.”
The site adds that new character Allison could fall in line with where Dixon’s storyline is headed for The Walking Dead, noting that foreshadowing from Season 5 could point to the duo sparking a romantic connection on the show.
“During Season 5’s episode ‘Consumed,’ Daryl discovers a book on how to treat survivors of childhood abuse. It’s a poignant moment the show has yet to follow up on, but that could change.”
While some fans of The Walking Dead have been eager to see Daryl finally get together with Carol, it appears that the show’s creators may have other plans for the beloved character.
