Will Kanye West Debut Troubled New Album With Apple Instead Of Tidal?

Kanye West may be the next person to jump ship from Jay’Z’s disastrous Tidal Service. Hits Daily Double has the news.

“Kanye West is making changes, distancing himself from Tidal, firing Roc Nation and managing himself, with an unofficial assist from the Jenner-Kardashian clan. As for Kanye’s long-delayed album, there’s some chatter that the release will be connected to Apple Music’s launch.”

Avoiding sinking ship Tidal for Kanye West’s album SWISH is a good business decision, given that Kanye’s latest album has become a sinking ship long before its release. Kanye West apparently thought that a duet with Paul McCartney would help make him relevant again on the charts.

The song “Only One” was released on January 1, 2015, and only climbed high enough on Billboard’s Hot 100 to reach No. 35. For other artists, that number wouldn’t be so bad. For Kanye, who is used to having new singles chart in the top five, it was a musical disaster.

Kanye West’s next single, “All Day,” climbed to No. 15 on Billboard’s Hot 100, so there was some hope. However, after the stunt West pulled in regards to the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, the attention he is getting has nothing to do with the music. After he was booed, West blamed his poorly-received performance on censorship. People quoted Kanye’s PR mouthpiece.

“It is ridiculous that in 2015, unwarranted censorship is something that artists still have to fight against. Although West was clearly set up to face elements beyond his control during the live broadcast, he would like to apologize to the television audience who were unable to enjoy the performance the way he envisioned.”

The relative lack of success of his new singles and constant rants didn’t stop Time from putting Kanye on its cover as one of this year’s most important icons. Kanye didn’t hold back on his self-importance in the Time interview.

“Every time I crash the internet, it’s like this little drop of truth. Every time I say something that’s extremely truthful out loud, it literally breaks the internet. So, what are we getting all of the rest of the time?”

Kanye West is certainly an eccentric talent, but nobody can deny he has major PR issues. If SWISH flops, it will have nothing to do with either Tidal or Apple, but everything to do with Kanye West himself. Let’s hope that Kanye can at least score a hit single soon so he can get his new album campaign back on track.
