WWE News: Current-TNA Knockout Blasts Vince McMahon For Use Of Women On TV

Not everybody will like everything they watch. On a more personal level, not everyone will love working where they do. It’s not complicated to come to that realization, but sometimes it has to be reinforced. When the world of professional wrestling is involved, that cannot be reinforced enough. The WWE owns the sports entertainment industry. Even more so, the WWE owns the wrestling industry too.

Therefore, not everyone will agree with what is decided upon. For example, there are wrestlers out there they hate the way Vince McMahon runs his corporation. On the other hand, others love the business and love the WWE. Along the way, wrestlers and divas have their own opinions.

With all the excitement that WWE NXT is garnering these days, those differences of opinion are becoming apparent in the NXT women’s division. Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch stole the show last night at NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. The WWE hasn’t seen womens wrestling like that since Mickie James and Michelle McCool. Even before that, Lita and Trish Stratus set a standard. WWE is returning to that standard.

However, not everybody agrees with that. Gail Kim, a former-WWE Diva, took to Twitter and had choice words for Vince McMahon.

The words Kim chose weren’t the smartest to use, but she got her point across. Women’s wrestling wasn’t a focal point in the WWE until WWE NXT started to showcase the women’s division a lot more. Aside from Paige and AJ Lee, the WWE Divas were not Trish Stratus and Lita. A good match was witnessed every once in a while, but that was the extent of it.

WWE NXT has women like Lynch, Banks, Bayley, Charlotte and Emma to carry women’s wrestling into the next generation. There are younger ones like Dana Brooke, who has a lot to learn. She still shows a lot of promise. WWE NXT fans aren’t the only ones praising Banks, as Mick Foley is a huge Sasha Banks fan.

“I’m going out on a limb here and predicting #BeckyLynch and Sasha Banks will have a #MatchOfTheYear type of contest on May 20 at #NXTTakeover. (No pressure at all ladies.) I just get the feeling that both women are at the right place, at the right time, with the right combination of skills, character, and in-ring chemistry to pull it off.”

It appears that Foley was correct on that one. Lynch and Banks stole the show. Much to Gail Kim’s chagrin, work is being done to make women’s wrestling in WWE better.

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H are working to change the guard. They want to change how WWE features women in their programming. While Vince McMahon might have one ideology on women wrestling, the WWE is heading in the right direction.
