Perrie Edwards Ditches Engagement Ring, Talks Zayn Malik Breakup Rumors

Perrie Edwards recently conducted an interview without her engagement ring and talked about a split from Zayn Malik. However, it’s not what you think.

According to Hollywood Life, Perrie Edwards didn’t wear her engagement ring during Little Mix’s recent interview on the Capital London Breakfast Show, and host Lisa Snowdon quickly took note of its absence. However, Perrie had a perfectly good explanation for her missing bling.

“It’s getting cleaned,” Perrie said.

Apparently, Perrie Edwards has a habit of getting her fingers really dirty. As the Inquisitr previously reported, the cleaning explanation was also used back in March after she was spotted without the gorgeous engagement ring.

Zayn Malik fans have made Perrie feel a bit awkward about showing off her ring, and she’s had to defend her decision to flash it in Instagram photos. Perhaps she’s uncomfortable wearing the ring in public because she doesn’t want Zayn fans to accuse her of flaunting it and using her relationship with Zayn to get attention. However, if she doesn’t wear it, these same fans start speculating that she and Zayn are no longer together.

During her Capital London Breakfast Show interview, Perrie Edwards joked about the numerous breakup rumors that she and Zayn Malik have endured ever since they started dating three years ago.

“Don’t worry, in the paper tomorrow we’ll probably not be together, we’ll be separated. I’ll be heartbroken, it will all be over… I feel naked, it’s horrible. You know when you get used to wearing something… But no, it’s getting cleaned.”

Perrie was recently put in an awkward position by one of Zayn Malik’s former One Direction band mates, and what Liam Payne said about The Little Mix singer probably won’t make her any more popular with Directioners. During an interview with Capital FM’s The Breakfast Show, Liam revealed that Perrie Edwards is Zayn Malik’s Yoko Ono.

“It’s like any other job really, sometimes you have to move on because you’re not enjoying what you’re doing as much,” Liam said. “He wanted to go and spend some time with his family and missus.”

At least Liam didn’t say that Zayn left to spend more time with Naughty Boy — that would have really sent One Direction fans over the edge.

Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik have been engaged since 2013, but they probably won’t get married anytime soon. During an interview with NOW! Magazine, Zayn’s sister Doniya revealed that Zerrie isn’t in any rush to make it to the altar.

“I haven’t actually had any wedding talks with them yet,” Doniya said. “I’d say there’s a good couple of years left until that. We haven’t really spoken about it.”

This means Zerrie will have to endure even more breakup rumors — imagine how many times they’ll (allegedly) call their wedding off before they get hitched a few years from now.
