Schoolgirl Jailed For Eight Months After Video Of Her Assaulting An Older Boy Goes Viral

A schoolgirl, who was captured punching and assaulting a teenage drug dealer, has been imprisoned for eight months after a video of her repeatedly hitting him went viral.

The incident was originally posted to the Young Rich Britain Facebook page on May 13, and it has since been watched 2.791 million times, while it’s also been liked over 13,500 times and shared over 19,000 times. The girl was eventually arrested because of the viral footage. You can watch the expletive-ridden, and violent, video by clicking over to this link.

The video clearly shows the 14-year-old girl, whose anonymity has been preserved by judges, punching and abusing the young boy in the two minute video. Even though she is much smaller than the boy, she shouts expletives at him and then punches him in the face.

While at Croydon Youth Court, she was sentenced to eight months in a young offenders’ institution because of the assault. This sentence was brought together because she had breached a youth rehabilitation order that had been previously imposed to her on March 8 for witness intimidation and grievous bodily harm, while an additional four months was added for the filmed attack.

After being informed of her sentence, the 14-year-old openly cried and then hugged her parents before she was then taken away.

According to Metro, Ken Ashken, the magistrate overseeing the case, said of the incident, “This was an extremely unpleasant assault on a vulnerable 14-year-old who did not seek to respond in any way.”

“In these circumstances,” he continued, “despite your young age and the undoubtedly good sides that you have within you, we consider that the offence is so serious, in regards to your previous offending, that a custodial sentence is justifiable.”

The boy who was shown receiving the sway of punches has been widely praised across social media for not responding to the attack, while the video ends with her warning that if he continues to deal poor, standard cannabis, one of her friends will stab him.

According to the Mirror, Kathryn Hovington, the girl’s lawyer, has revealed that she is already undergoing anger management lessons, while she insisted that she “has shown real intelligence and insight” and has been “able to reflect” on the incident.

Hovington added, “She regrets her actions and was not aware of the victim’s vulnerability. She has asked me to apologize on her behalf.”
