Tiger Woods Ends Drought At Arnold Palmer Invitational, Returns To The Top 10

It took him more than two years but Tiger Woods has finally put another tally in the win column. Woods took the win today at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, nearly 30 months after the sex scandal in 2009 that led to one of sports’ biggest downfalls.

ABC reports that Woods’ last PGA Tour win came on September 13th, 2009 (923 days ago) at the BMW Championship. (Woods did take a win last December at the Chevron World Challenge but it wasn’t a PGA Tour event.)

Woods said:

“It does feel good. It feels really good. It’s been a lot of hard work.”

Tiger’s caddie, Joe LaCava, added:

“He was a man on a mission today. He was pretty jacked up. He was out there to prove himself.”

Woods victory at Bay Hill puts him back in the top 10 for the first time since May 22nd. USA Today reports that Woods’ victory moves him up to 6th on the world’s best list. Woods finished 13 under to claim his 72nd PGA tour win and is now just one win shy of Jack Nicklaus on the career win list.

Tiger ended his PGA Tour drought today at Bay Hill and in a few weeks have a shot to end his four year drought at the Masters. Woods said:

“I am excited, no doubt. I’m looking forward to the momentum I’ve built here.”

Do you think Tiger Woods is the man to beat in April at the Masters?
