Yahoo Launches New Mobile App For iPhones

Yahoo announced the unveiling of its new Yahoo Mobile application for iPhones today. The app aims to serve as a “starting point” for mobile devices, bringing Yahoo search functionality along with other standard home page features to the mobile interface.

Unlike past Yahoo mobile applications, the new Yahoo Mobile allows you to personalize the launch page with your own e-mail and social network accounts — even if they aren’t Yahoo-related. You can also add spaces for an address book and calendar in addition to the regular news, weather, and RSS feed-style options that you would expect.

The app will eventually integrate support for Yahoo’s Messenger app, expected to launch in the near future.
