‘Ninja Turtles 2’: General Krang To Appear In New Movie?

The recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot really set off a renewed sense of enthusiasm for the property (at least with mainstream film audiences, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series has practically run nonstop since forever). Slowly but surely, it’s looking like the sequel to the 2014 blockbuster is going to be bringing a great deal of fanservice. A while back, we heard that Bebop and Rocksteady, Shredder’s bumbling henchmen would also be joining the picture, and more recently saw Gary Anthony Williams locking down the role of Bebop. Then, of course, came the confirmation that Stephen Amell had taken on the mantle of hockey mask-wearing vigilante, Casey Jones. All in all, it’s all looking incredibly promising for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, as it’s bringing a lot of familiar faces to the table, and if rumors are true, then you can add one more character to the list.

According to Cinema Blend, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 may also see General Krang as one of the lead villains of the film.

“According to a source close to production, Krang will be making his live-action debut in TMNT 2. This source said that the production recently filmed a scene last week involving a number of extras and the character’s arrival on Earth through a portal of some sort. We have yet to confirm this information outside of the mentioned source, but given all we know of this current run of films and the rumors, we have every reason to trust this intel.”

Krang

Krang has been a key villain in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle universe ever since his debut in the original animated series back in 1987. A warlord from another dimension, Krang is best known for commanding a large robotic body–one, in fact, that was made for him by Shredder after Krang lost his original body. The addition of Krang to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn’t new. Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang were all rumored to be in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the studio even went so far as to include concept art for the characters.

Needless to say, Krang’s appearance is a long time in the making, and let’s hope it’ll be worth it once the movie hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
