Alton Brown Divorce: ‘Iron Chef’ Host Said He Was Simply Unhappy

Alton Brown’s divorce from wife DeAnna is now final. Although the Iron Chef America host has been notoriously reluctant to discuss his personal relationships, he recently revealed he was simply unhappy in his marriage.

As reported by E! Online, Alton’s demanding schedule may have contributed to the split. In addition to numerous speaking engagements, the Food Network star hosts several popular programs, including Cutthroat Kitchen, The Next Food Network Star, and Good Eats.

According to reports, Alton and DeAnna Brown separated in June 2014 and filed for divorce before the end of the year. Prior to the separation, the couple shared their Georgia home with their teenage daughter.

Sources said Alton Brown’s divorce was not unexpected as he and DeAnna were having problems “for a while.” Although the news is unfortunate, Alton said he plans to focus on his career.

Brown is the third Food Network host to end a marriage in the last year.

Last year, Giada de Laurentiis and Todd Thompson announced their separation in July 2014 after more than 11 years of marriage.

In separate announcements, de Laurentiis and Thompson said they are regretful that the marriage simply did not work. However, they both remain committed to their 6-year-old daughter, Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson.

In addition to hosting her own cooking show, Giada at Home, de Laurentiis co-hosted The Next Food Network Star and opened her own restaurant in 2014.

Earlier this year, Bobby Flay and wife Stephanie March announced they were divorcing after 10 years of marriage. As reported by US Magazine, the split was reportedly prompted by Flay’s infidelity.

Although the Food Network host vehemently denied the rumors, March insists Flay had numerous extramarital affairs over the course of several years.

Like Alton Brown, Bobby Flay maintains a rigorous schedule, with ongoing programs on the Food Network and Cooking Channel. In addition to co-hosting The Next Food Network Star with Brown and de Laurentiis, Flay has also hosts BBQ with Bobby Flay, Throwdown! with Bobby Flay, and Beat Bobby Flay.

Although Alton Brown’s divorce seems to be somewhat amicable, Giada de Laurentiis and Bobby Flay have become the subject of vicious rumors — including the possibility that they were having an affair.

In an interview with Gossip Cop, Laurentiis denied the rumors and insists she and Flay are simply close friends. Unfortunately, her denial did nothing to quell the rumors.

Alton Brown’s divorce was far more private and devoid of speculation. However, sources confirmed it was in the works for quite some time.
