Janel Parrish Congratulates Val Chmerkovskiy And Rumer Willis On ‘DWTS’ Win

Actress and singer Janel Parrish was quick to publicly congratulate Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Rumer Willis on their Dancing with the Stars Season 20 win. After Val and Rumer took home the mirror ball trophy on Tuesday night’s finale episode, Janel tweeted that she called it right from the start.

Janel reached the finals of Season 19 with Val. During their run on the show, there was a lot of speculation that they were dating in real life. There were photos of Val and Janel holding hands outside of rehearsing for and performing on the show. The two also frequently posted photos of themselves looking very cozy with one another on their social media accounts. In late October, 2014, as reported by Glamour, Val finally denied dating Janel. He said that he would never compromise his professional career by dating a celeb dance partner.

“We’re not dating. Maybe the press reserves the right to ask these questions, but I’m a professional, and I’m on a dance show. I don’t want to undermine my profession that I’ve devoted 20 years to … I don’t want that to be overshadowed by dating rumors. We’re not dating. I want Janel to be great. I want her to be protected. I want her to always look good, whether we are out and about. I care about her because she’s my partner and my priority on and off the dance floor.”

Janel added that she wished that people would concentrate on what they were doing on the dance floor.

“It’s amazing that people love us and want to talk about us, but on the other hand we would love it if they just focus on what we’re doing daily.”

Despite the denial, many of Janel and Val’s dancing fans, dubbed Team Janelskiy, refused to accept the prospect that they weren’t an item. Some apparently still don’t. In response to Janel’s congratulatory tweet to Val and Rumer, some people told her that it should’ve been Janel with whom Val experienced his first show win. One person told Janel that Val and Rumer don’t deserve her kindness. Some even wrote that the show was rigged to give Val and Rumer the win this time.

Besides Janel Parrish, one person who is probably celebrating Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Rumer Willis Dancing with the Stars Season 20 win is Val’s brother, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Maks said prior to the finale that the winning team should be Val and Rumer. Maks added that it’s time for a “change of guard” on the dancing show, with Val being one of the show’s new headliners.
