‘GTA V’ Might Not Get Any Single-Player Story DLC After All

Take-Two Interactive began the week by holding an investors call to keep stockholders up-to-date on how well the video game publisher has performed during the previous quarter. As reported by the Inquisitr, Grand Theft Auto V continues to see strong sales across all platforms. In fact, Take-Two is still reporting growth from GTA V since the start of the year despite the fact that the publishers overall profits have dropped.

Listening in to the earnings call, Dual Shockers revealed that Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that gamers can expect to see additional content added to GTA V’s online multiplayer mode. The publisher admitted that the on-going success of Grand Theft Auto V is thanks to the evolving experiences that are offered through GTA Online. In hopes of continuing to foster the unique online portions of GTA V, Take-Two told investors that Rockstar Games plans to move forward by developing even more content for the title’s online mode in the future.

Unfortunately, the publisher wouldn’t comment on the possibility that Grand Theft Auto V would ever receive a story-driven DLC add-on to expand upon the game’s single-player experience. According to the Dual Shocker report, Take-Two Interactive simply stated that they have never announced that there will ever be any kind of single-player DLC for GTA V.

However, this goes against earlier reports from Grand Theft Auto V voice actors who have previously claimed that recording work has already begun for future GTA V add-on content. Shawn Fonteno, the actor who provided the voice of Franklin in Grand Theft Auto V’s story campaign, announced a few months ago he had then begun recording new lines for an upcoming add-on.

Clearly, there are conflicting announcements between the publisher of GTA V and the talent who helped create the game. Despite Fonteno’s comments, fans of the game should assume that there is no story-driven DLC planned for Grand Theft Auto V until an official announcement is given by either Take-Two Interactive or Rockstar Games.

Just because the development team behind GTA V might not currently be working on a single-player add-on for the game doesn’t mean that Rockstar Games hasn’t kept busy adding new content for the game. Since January of this year, the developer has released the anticipated online heists missions for GTA Online across all platforms followed by the official launch of the title’s PC edition.

Would you like to see more story-driven content for GTA V or would you prefer that Rockstar Games continues to focus on GTA Online instead?
