Sheer, Sexy, And See-Through Wedding Dresses Are Now A Thing
The evolution of the wedding gown is here. Instead of purely white gowns with puffy sleeves that cover brides from head to toe in tulle and satin, sheer and sexy lace wedding gowns are all the buzz in the fashion world. According to the Daily Mail, Bridal Fashion Week during April in New York pegged the trend of sheer bridal gowns. There were reportedly more dresses for brides that involved sheer cutouts and see-through elements that weren’t normally seen on women walking the aisles on their wedding days in recent years.
The sexy and sheer designs have come from fashion mavens such as Marchesa, Reem Acra, Naeem Khan, and others. They are all riding the wave of sheer fashions that stars like Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Lopez have recently been seen wearing at Met Gala events.
As reported by the Atlantic, the unexpected previewing of sheer wedding gowns set to arrive for the Spring 2016 new season showed off the would-be brides’ skin in ways that were slightly shocking. As wedding-goers are used to seeing a bride perhaps reveal her arms, décolletage, and even a sweeping plunge down the back — the latest wedding dresses that expose the sides and stomachs were a revelation.
The designer Theia featured a blouse sheer enough for the bra to be seen underneath. Angel Sanchez debuted a concoction with sheer cutouts between the breasts. As reported by the Inquisitr, Sanchez also used 3D flowers in the Spring 2016 show.
It’s a bold move that’s being called the “sexification” of wedding dresses. For some, it’s a logical conclusion, seeing as though a bride and groom’s wedding day should be one of their most romantic days of their entire union. Sexual and sensual feelings should be expected.
Others are calling the wedding gowns stuff that could rival Victoria’s Secret gear. Vera Wang’s new brides dresses could pass for lingerie, reports InStyle. The sheer bridal dresses included those with Chantilly lace, and since they are sheer enough to reveal the bra and panties beneath — those are made of ivory-colored lace as well, or either black lace.
The sexy and sheer wedding gowns are ones that are the choice of daring brides, reports the Huffington Post. The publication points to an Elizabeth Fillmore wedding gown with a sheer lace bodice. Indeed, some of these sheer wedding dresses might make a bride getting married in a conservative church setting feel a bit overexposed, while others offer the perfect amount of sensuality and tastefulness.
