‘Mortal Kombat X’: Demo Voorhees Weekend And Future Prospects

Mortal Kombat X became the hit of the season – and not only because of its everlasting qualities, like awesome graphics or a multitude of fighting techniques, but also due to the promise of new DLC packs.

According to the Inquisitr, Mortal Kombat X got on top of the game sales charts last month.

“Following the launch Mortal Kombat X on current-gen consoles last month, the return of the classic fighting series managed to become the highest selling digital title on the PlayStation 4 in April. As they do each month, Sony released the digital sales charts for game sales made via the PS Store on the official PlayStation Blog, which confirmed the success of Mortal Kombat X as the violent title claimed the top spot across all PS4 online sales.”

And this weekend, all fans had a possibility to try out a new character, which came on top of the Horror Pack and is known for his masterful use of a machete – Jason Voorhees. Voorhees could be accessed through his own Premier Tower among the Living Towers. Every fan of the maniac was able to try out every iconic fighting style he’s got.

According to IGN, Jason is not going to be the last one of the new characters.

“Jason became available in early May as a downloadable character and has since been shown off by the developers, who revealed his move sets and fighting styles on a live stream. Several other DLC characters are incoming, including the previously-teased Predator and the suggested return of Rain.”

The DLC packs also contain familiar faces, refreshed and improved. The GameRant reports on the future appearance of one of them.

“The first Kombat Pack features a fan favorite, Tanya, a villainous ninja who debuted in Mortal Kombat 4.

We still don’t know when Tanya and the first Klassic Pack will be available, but it’s probably coming soon. Just recently, Tanya’s fatalities and brutalities leaked on Imgur, and now her character select screen animation has been posted online.”

In fact, before purchasing the pack that got one’s attention, every fan will be able to try out a little free demo of his beloved character – the new or the renewed one. That will allow players to understand whether their new fighter is going to be useful or not. After all, in Mortal Kombat, it’s all about abilities, not appearances, and sometimes it’s better to get yourself an original character rather than someone familiar, yet weak.
