Bride Nearly Drowns In ‘Trash That Dress’ Stunt Gone Horribly Wrong [Video]

A new bride nearly drowned after a “trash that dress” prank went horribly wrong. The new bride planned to jump into the ocean from a boat where her waiting groom would catch her below in an attempt to “trash that dress.” However, the large wedding gown quickly took on water and caused the bride to almost immediately sink. The groom tried frantically to bring the bride up for air but couldn’t find her in the mass of white wedding gown.

In the video which was posted to Live Leak and uploaded by the Global News, you can see the happy bride standing on the edge of a boat as the wedding crowd encourages her to jump to her waiting groom below. One woman jokes, “I hope she doesn’t sink” as a countdown ensues. The bride, still wearing her wedding gown, jumps into the ocean. However, the groom’s smile quickly fades as he realizes his bride is sinking under the weight of her gown.

The groom tries to pull the bride up, but her gown is too heavy. Therefore, he begins to frantically search for the woman’s head so he can bring her up for air. However, her body seems lost in the giant mass of white. As it becomes apparent that the groom cannot get the bride up on his own, a woman in a bride’s maid helps in the search and can be seen pulling the gown out as someone says, “Find her!”

When the pair have no luck, three more wedding goers join in to hoist the bride from the water. In total, it took five people to save the sinking bride. As the group gets the bride to the surface, her face says it all and a person in the background says, “She’s okay, she’s okay.” The crowd then begins to cheer again and the bride is helped out of the water after her near drowning.
