Teacher Arrested After Deputies Find Meth Lab In Her Home
Authorities found a meth lab inside the North Carolina home of a 38-year-old elementary school teacher, Lori Whitley. Officers served a search warrant on her Zebulan home in the 100 block of Big Branch Court, about 24 miles east of Raleigh, North Carolina. Equipment to make methamphetamine was then discovered. Wake County schools officials say Whitley has been a third-grade teacher at Wendell Elementary School since 2002, according to Fox News.
She and her 41-year-old husband, Gary, face a combined total of 12 charges that include manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and child abuse. Deputies say the couple’s eight-year-old son was in the house when they searched the home. Their son was turned over to the custody of the Department of Social Services, according to Channel 11 ABC.
Lori Whitley has been suspended from her job as an elementary school teacher with pay, according to Time-Warner Cable News, Central North Carolina. Additionally, the school district is conducting its own investigation, according to ABC News Channel 11. As of this writing, Whitley is still listed on the Wendell Elementary School’s website as an employee.
The bond for Gary Whitley was set at $207,500. Lori Whitley was incarcerated under a $157,500 bond. It’s unknown whether either Whitley is represented by an attorney.

She traveled from her hometown of Ceska Lipa to the country’s capital of Prague for a casting call. She stated that she did not believe that she was making a porn video. However, she made a 40-minute sex tape with an unnamed male. She noted that she is the mother of two, separated from her husband. Apparently, she never thought the tape would be seen by her students, but it was.
Students at the teacher’s school discovered the video online, and they shared it. A parent of one of her students who saw the video reported her, and the teacher was promptly fired. The headteacher, Petr Jones, said that “[a]s soon as we learnt about this we had no other choice than to say goodbye to her.”
