Zendaya Graduates From High School: ‘DWTS’ Partner Val Chmerkovskiy Attends Graduation
Zendaya graduated from high school last weekend. The 18-year-old completed all her coursework while fulfilling her entertainment dreams, according to Billboard.
Zendaya’s real name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, but she is well-known by just her first name. When she was a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars in Season 16, she said one of her dreams was to be known by just one name. Her dream has come true.
The new graduate joins a small group of mononymous people such as Oprah, Pharrell, Cher, Pink, Madonna, Rihanna, Beyonce, Bono, Twiggy, Fabian, Liberace, Prince, Sade, Seal, Sinbad, Mo’Nique, Ciara, and Adele.
Zendaya, which means “to give thanks” in the language of Shona, was born in Oakland, California, to a black father and a white mother. She lives in Los Angeles, California, with her family and her dog, Midnight.
Zendaya might be just graduating from high school, but she has been successful in areas where some people have never been. The actress, singer, reality television star, dancer, model, and fashion designer has an outstanding work ethic, which has helped her succeed in the entertainment world and still graduate on time. Zendaya has earned numerous awards and honors in entertainment.

Zendaya is a young woman who seems to be headed in the right direction. Zendaya first came to fame in 2010 as one of the stars of the television comedy Shake It Up on the Disney Channel. Zendaya signed a recording deal with Hollywood Records in 2012. The following year, she became a first-time author with her debut book, Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence.
Zendaya’s clothing line was inspired by the clothes she wears on Shake It Up. Her fashion collection is called “Shake It Up Dance Clothing Line by Zendaya.” The clothing line features fun clothes for active girls, legwarmers, shorts, jackets, headbands, and athletic apparel and accessories. She is also starting a shoe line, according to InStyle. She has teamed up with Law Roach to launch a shoe collection in time for the back-to-school season in September.
The talented star was the first runner-up on Dancing With the Stars during Season 16 with partner Val Chmerkovskiy, who attended her graduation.
