Mariah Carey Accused Of Cancelling Show Because Of Poor Ticket Sales

Mariah Carey has cancelled a Las Vegas show Wednesday evening without rescheduling it, which leads many to assume that instead of having bronchitis, Ms. Carey has come down with a case of poor ticket sales. Gossip Cop was one of the very first sites to announce the cancellation.

“Mariah Carey cancelled her Wednesday ‘#1 To Infinity’ show in Las Vegas, one week into her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The singer has been struck with bronchitis after performing just three times. The cancellation was very last-minute, and ticket-holders only found out when they arrived at the theater.”

Gossip Cop noted that a sign said the show wouldn’t be rescheduled. Many automatically assumed it was because of too many empty seats. Several commenters under a Billboard article on the same topic were very suspicious.

“Um, has nothing to do with Bronchitis. If you go onto Ticketmaster, you will see that there are several thousand tickets available for all her shows. Mariah Carey is a scam artist, we all know how she achieved her no 1s,” said commenter PMarcasiam.

Apparently, PMarcasiam doesn’t realize that Ticketmaster has nothing to do with selling tickets to the show.

“I don’t buy it….it is due to low ticket sales!!!!” said commenter Aaron J. Perra.

People weren’t any more kind on Twitter.

“@MariahCarey Why don’t you just admit you cancelled your show because of poor ticket sales! #lies,” wrote Tweeter Chad Goldberg.

Some of the other comments were far more demeaning. But the only thing interesting about the whole theory of poor ticket sales is that it is completely false. As it was noted almost a month ago, ticket sales weren’t amazing, but good enough to where Mariah Carey wouldn’t have to cancel any shows in the near future. If one tries to buy tickets to the remaining shows at AXS, they will notice that tickets aren’t available in every single section. So, what’s the real reason for Mariah Carey’s cancellation?

If you want to believe the New York Daily News, then it appears Mariah Carey cancelled because she didn’t rehearse enough. The “source” told the New York Daily News that Mariah Carey’s first couple dates in Vegas didn’t go well and now she’s feeling the heat.

The New York Daily News rumor is in stark contrast to a review from Yahoo News, which claimed Carey was, for the most part, in top form. The Los Angeles Times also gave Mariah Carey a good review and noted how much Mariah Carey and Las Vegas go together. Is it that hard to believe that Mariah Carey may actually be suffering from bronchitis?
