NeNe Leakes’ Sister Says It Was NeNe Who Turned Her Back On Their Mother

One of NeNe Leakes’ sisters may have heard from her after the airing of Part 3 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 reunion show, and the exchange between the two may have been a very heated one. On Wednesday, NeNe’s younger sister, Kendele Kenya Sherman, tweeted a message about people being mad at those who speak the truth.

Kendele’s tweet may be referring to NeNe’s reaction to her after she posted several tweets that claimed that NeNe was lying about what happened with their mom. During Part 3 of the reunion show, NeNe, after the arrival of therapist Dr. Jeff to the stage, said that she was angry over how the other women always think that they’re the victims and don’t ever stop to think of what she has had to go through. That’s when NeNe mentioned her family background.

“My mother didn’t raise me. My father never claimed me. I have been lied to, I have been cheated on. I have been in an abusive relationship.”

After mentioning her mom, now deceased, NeNe got so emotional that she couldn’t talk. Trembling and crying, she eventually left the stage.

Kendele, who was watching the reunion as it aired, lashed out on Twitter. She posted a tweet that told Kenya Moore, who rushed to NeNe’s side upon her breakdown, to not fall for NeNe’s lies.

“No Kenya that’s not true you didn’t know your mom nene did don’t let that bulls**t fool ya.”

It was while NeNe Leakes was in her dressing room that her husband, Gregg Leakes, told Andy Cohen the backstory on what happened between NeNe and her mom.

“Her mom had five children when she was very young. And she couldn’t take care of five kids. And she sent NeNe and her brother to Athens to be raised by her aunt. And she raised the other three kids. She has always wondered why she had to be one of the ones sent away. It’s bugged her all of her life. So that’s what that is.”

Kendele dismissed Gregg’s explanation for NeNe’s hurt.

“Omg Gregg REALLY!!! That’s what’s hurting her please.”

Kendele just couldn’t believe what she was hearing and seeing.

Kendele then tweeted that it was NeNe who turned her back on their mother.

“Dr Jeff she turn her back on her mom so these others don’t mean S**T OK!!”

This isn’t the first time that NeNe’s younger sister has publicly lashed out at her. In October, 2013, Kendele did an interview with I am Courtney Luv in which she claimed that Gregg was a married man when NeNe met him. Kendele also said that it was NeNe’s choice to live with her aunt.

“NeNe did live in Georgia with my aunt that is true… We could’ve lived together in New York but my sister asked my mom could she go to school in Georgia. And my mom ok’ed it… My mom would never ship her kids off. Never. No. My mother was a successful businesswoman in New York. Her and her husband they owned lots of things, from gas stations to grocery stores to record stores, very good entrepreneurs, so there would be no need for her to ship her kids off, she can afford to take care of them.”

Interestingly enough, Kendele also said during that interview that she was edited out of an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta because NeNe threw a fit. Kendele actually attended Phaedra Parks’ birthday party for her son, since Phaedra was her attorney prior to her joining the show. Kendele said that her and Phaedra’s families, both being from Athens, knew one another.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, NeNe Leakes wrote in her final blog post for Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that she loves her mom and now understands why she had to do what she did.
