Taylor Swift Doesn’t Believe In ‘Happily Ever After,’ Despite ‘Glowing Date’ With Calvin Harris

Taylor Swift may be dating Calvin Harris these days, but the singer no longer believes in “Happily Ever After.” The singer-songwriter has written her share of songs about fairytale romances. Now Taylor has admitted that her high-profiled relationships don’t always follow the storybooks.

Swift, 25, sat down for an exclusive ELLE magazine interview with BFF Tavi Gevinson. The two friends talked about love, Swift’s famous relationships, and her past decisions.

Taylor revealed that she doesn’t think relationships are as magical as she once believed.

“Once I fell in love, or thought I was in love, and then experienced disappointment or it just not working out a few times, I realized there’s this idea of happily ever after, which in real life doesn’t happen. There’s no riding off into the sunset, because the camera always keeps rolling in real life.”

“Now I have more of a grasp on the fact that when you’re in a state of infatuation and you think everything that person does is perfect, it then — if you’re lucky — morphs into a real relationship when you see that that person is not in fact perfect, but you still want to see them every day.”

The singer, who’s also good friends with Karlie Kloss, says that relationships where best friends are also lovers aren’t as exciting as it sounds.

“I think that that kind of relationship — God, it sounds like it would just be so beautiful — would also be hard. It would also be mundane at times.”

Kaylor fans won’t be happy to hear that! Swift’s fans have been hoping that the dating rumors about the singer dating Karlie Kloss would become true. It doesn’t look like Swift is set on dating her friends, male or female.

Taylor Swift also admitted in the interview that she’s never experienced real, true love. She told Gevinson that her infamous relationships have been more about infatuation rather than love.

“I’d never been in a relationship when I wrote my first couple of albums, so these were all projections of what I thought they might be like. They were based on movies and books and songs and literature that tell us that a relationship is the most magical thing that can ever happen to you.”

The pop singer has no regrets about the life she’s chosen to live. She also has no regrets on the houses she purchased or the fashion choices she’s made over the years.

“I feel no need to burn down the house I built by hand. I can make additions to it. I can redecorate. But I built this. And so I’m not going to sit there and say, ‘Oh, I wish I hadn’t had corkscrew-curly hair and worn cowboy boots and sundresses to awards shows when I was 17; I wish I hadn’t gone through that fairy-tale phase where I just wanted to wear princess dresses to awards shows every single time. Because I made those choices. I did that.'”

Taylor Swift was recently spotted on a “glowing date” with rumored beau Calvin Harris. The hot new couple were spotted having dinner at the Giorgio restaurant on Tuesday night, as previously reported via People magazine. Onlookers said that Taylor and Calvin were laughing and having a good time. One of them even commented on the singer’s sexy date night outfit.

“Taylor looked gorgeous. It was a very sexy but classy look. She was glowing, she seemed incredibly happy but also very at ease with Calvin.”

Swifties are holding out hope that their pop idol finds love this time around.
