‘Advanced Warfare’ Reveals New Weapon Variants For Release May 19

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare keeps on giving to players, as Sledgehammer Games is preparing to release some new variants of popular weapons to fans.

In a blog post by Sledgehammer, Advanced Warfare players can expect to see some new variants of the non-Akimbo SAC3, as well as some new Royalty Weapon elite variants in the game. These variants come little more than a week after the M1Irons variants hit Advanced Warfare, as the Inquisitr detailed previously.

“We’ve been in active exploration into bringing exciting new weapon options to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and we have a lot more to come ahead. First up, we’re excited to bring new variants of the SAC3, an akimbo SMG that has been available to all players in Multiplayer since launch.”

The SAC3 SMG has been a fan favorite since the launch of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. According to Sledgehammer, the high-rate of fire has proved to be a nice trade-off for the lack of aiming ability for some players. While not stats have been released by the Advanced Warfare developer for the weapons, in a data-mine today, reported by VG247, some intrepid Reddit users may have found them for players interested.

Also releasing on May 19 are some “Royalty Weapon” elite variants. These weapons are clad in the same camo as the Grand Master Prestige armor and according to Sledgehammer’s post are similar in stats to the weapon variants already in game. Some weapons included are the newly released M1Irons, the BAL-27 and the AK12.

Both variants will be available via Supply Drops and Advanced Supply drops in game, with the first ten of Sledgehammer’s favorites actually launching starting May 19. As with all DLC released by Sledgehammer for Advanced Warfare, the content will hit Xbox consoles first, with PS4 and PC to come. Recently the PC and PS4 finally had the “Ascendence” DLC hit, but the launch of the new DLC pack was overshadowed thanks to the timing of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 reveal happening at the same time.
