Sportscaster Hated ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’: Mike Francesa Goes On Epic 4-Minute Rant

Mike Francesa usually reserves his abuse for NFL, baseball, and basketball players. However, after seeing Avengers: Age of Ultron, the sportscaster just couldn’t help but erupt in anger because of what he’d seen.

You see, it turns out that Mike Francesa wasn’t a big fan of the blockbuster sequel. In fact, he was so furious with how it unfolded that he spent four minutes explaining what was wrong with it during an episode of The Mike Francesa Show. You can check out his epic four-minute rant below.

What’s truly great about Mike Francesa’s epic take-down of the film is that it seemingly just pops into his head while he’s talking about how much a baseball player looks like Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.

Mike wastes no time in getting to the bones about why he despised the latest addition to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.

Francesa explained, “I deserved something for sitting through that movie. Could they do me a favour when they make this movie — which the kids love, and I understand it’s for the kids — but can there be something like a script to follow.”

As Francesa pointed out, he probably wasn’t Marvel Studio’s main demographic for the film. He went on to note in his rant that his two boys, who he watched the picture with, absolutely adored it. However, for him, it was devoid of any plot and he called it one of the worst films that he’s ever seen.

“All it is is two collisions in the air between superheroes for two hours. That’s all it is. It’s like going to the dentist, that movie. That movie wasn’t bad, it was putrid.”

Francesa repeatedly provides vague criticisms of the film. But his hatred basically boils down to the fact that, in his opinion, the lack of dialogue and plot meant that it was hard to follow.

Francesa admits from the off that the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t really for him, something that’s pretty clear as he fails to remember the name of the characters. In fact, he even forgets that Robert Downey Jr. plays Iron Man while he refers to the Hulk as “the green guy.”

In the end though, credit to Mike Francesa, because he admits that while he found the entire effort deplorable, his kids loved it. And the fact that Avengers: Age Of Ultron has so far grossed $931 million in just three weeks means that Marvel should be able to just about get over Francesa’s criticism. If they can’t, then they’ll have plenty of dollar bills to dry their tears on.
