Arrest Update: ‘RHOBH’ Kim Richards Was Under The Influence Of ‘A Drug, A Controlled Substance, & Toluene’

An arrest update regarding Kim Richards has revealed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star did more than just drink on the night of her arrest. Although it was previously revealed that Richards was drinking on April 16, both in court documents and during her interview with Dr. Phil, fans are now learning even more was done on that devastating night.

According to Us Weekly on May 14, official documents revealed Richards was “under the influence of intoxicating liquor and a drug, a controlled substance, and toluene,” an inhalant.

The latest arrest update is shocking for a number of reasons. While Richards’ alcohol use was no surprise, her drug use was unexpected. During her interview with Dr. Phil weeks ago, Richards said she went to the Beverly Hills Hotel after having a glass of vodka at her daughter’s house. She then admitted to having more alcoholic beverages upon arrival. As for the “drug,” “controlled substance,” and “toluene,” they were not mentioned by Richards. Her son, however, did claim she has used marijuana, and allegations of prescription pill use were noted, as well.

The arrest update did not reveal which drug, or which controlled substance, was found.

Prior to the release of the arrest update, as the Inquisitr previously reported, it was revealed that Bravo producers were happy with Richards’ decision to enter rehab and had planned to allow her to come back to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills because of it. On May 13, a source revealed the following to Radar Online.

“The network is going to keep Kim on because she has adhered to everything that they’ve asked so far. She checked into rehab and has agreed to go along with everything that her bosses asked of her. Kim is not a liability if she is clean and sober and doing what is asked of her. She knows the process because she has done it several times before.”

The source went on to note that Richards’ gig with Bravo has actually proved to be a good thing for her recovery.

“Kim is actually starting to make progress and is not quite as resistant as she was in the beginning. It seems that her contract with the studio and her job as a housewife actually helped her get sober, because she cannot afford to lose the money.”

No word yet on whether the arrest update has changed Bravo’s feelings regarding Richards’ future on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
