E3 2015: Xbox Promises Greatest Game Lineup In Its History

Nintendo announced its E3 2015 plans yesterday and today is Microsoft’s turn to reveal its Xbox One reveal schedule. The game maker is going bold by pronouncing that attendees and viewers will “see the greatest games lineup in Xbox history.”

The Xbox E3 2015 briefing is scheduled for Monday, June 15 at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT. A livestream of the event will be available via Spike TV, Xbox.com, and the Xbox LIVE Events Player on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows Phone.

After the briefing ends, Microsoft will continue the livestreaming with the Xbox Daily: Live @ E3 show. Like the Nintendo Treehouse, it will feature interviews with game developers along with demos of the games that were just announced.

So, what does Microsoft have planned for this year’s E3? There are the known quantities of titles like Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Fable Legends. However, there’s also the new Gears of War title and the Gears of War remake which just saw some footage leak.

Meanwhile, Scalebound and Crackdown were both revealed for the Xbox One with impressive CGI trailers at E3. There’s a strong likelihood we’ll see more from both titles.

There’s more to anticipate from the Xbox One at E3 though with other unannounced titles, according to Xbox Head Phil Spencer. Rumors of a new Real Time Strategy (RTS) title have been floating around, for example. Spencer previously talked up plans for the event and confirmed that the main focus will be on the console’s first party titles.

Last year’s E3 showing for the Xbox One was a successful turnaround for the console after a widely panned debut during Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference. The focus on games was a major factor for that reversal. However, expect to see mention of topics like DirectX 12 and the release of Windows 10.
