Taylor Swift & Katy Perry May Have ‘Bad Blood,’ But They Share A Love For Cats

Taylor Swift’s new single “Bad Blood” is reported to be about arch nemesis Katy Perry. The singer has been promoting her new single on Instagram and Twitter since May 7. Taylor Swift is now four days away from her big music video premiere, and she hinted on which of her friends she’ll duel in the video.

Swift, 25, enlisted up to 17 of her celebrity friends for her “Bad Blood” music video. She also gave fans a glimpse at her alter ego, “Catastrophe,” on her Instagram account on Wednesday. Before unveiling her own poster, Swift previously announced that Victoria’s Secret Angel Martha Hunt would make an appearance. She also may have hinted that she’ll duel BFF Karlie Kloss in the music video.

As you can see, Taylor Swift is a huge cat lover. She even included the word “cat” in her “Bad Blood” name. Taylor previously featured her beloved cats, Olivia Benson and Meredith Gray, in exclusive footage during her 1989 World Tour.

As previously report, via MTV News, Swift revealed to her fans that her cats have an annoying habit. She shared a video of her adorable cats waking her up in the early hours of the morning. Swift ends the adorable video with the exclamation, “It is 6am!”

Katy Perry is another famous cat lady, according to an old Yahoo! News report. After all, she named her cat Kitty Purry. Perry even made her pet the mascot of her California Dreams Tour. In addition, the “Dark Horse” singer references her fandom as “Katy Cats” or the aptly clever “Katy Kats.” Perry has also worn a sexy leopard print catsuit and matching cat ears during her Prismatic World Tour.

It sounds like Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have a lot more in common than they think. That hasn’t stopped the pop divas from feuding with each other, of course.

Swift hinted that she wrote the diss track about a fellow pop star. She revealed to Rolling Stone magazine last year that the single is about her bitter feud with another female pop artist.

“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy!

It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

“Bad Blood” has made both Katy Cats and Swifties wonder if the feud has to do with the fact that Katy Perry dated John Mayer. The on-again, off-again couple have been dating since 2012. Taylor Swift dated the musician from 2010 to 2011.

Katy has taken shots at Taylor with her infamous tweets. It leaves fans wondering who would win in an ultimate duel, if one were to take place. Taylor has her fare share of celebrity friends on her side, while Katy only has Rihanna, who’s not afraid to to speak her mind. She’s not called “bad gal RiRi” for nothing. Katy also has DJ Diplo on her side, who also has a beef with Taylor and her fandom.

If only Taylor Swift and Katy Perry could put their feud aside so they can share their love of cats. They could also dance together at upcoming award shows.
