11 Beauty Tips From Celebrities: Eyelashes, Moisturizer, Long-Lasting Lipstick

Beauty tips have been passed down from mother to daughter through the generations. And while discovering the way your grandmother kept her hair shiny with olive oil may be interesting to know, the real gold will come from beauty tips from stars and celebrities. As Style Caster pointed out, these are the people who are paid top dollar – sometimes into the millions – to be beautiful and stylish and to maintain their youthful looks despite the passing years.

Stars and celebrities also have access to the top stylists and products – the best that money can buy. Here is a collection of the top eleven beauty tips you need to know from stars and celebrities of all ages and all around the world, thanks to information provided by InStyle Magazine and Style Caster.

Sunscreen and Moisturizer

Beyonce is a big fan of keeping skin hydrated with a good moisturizer.

“A woman is most beautiful when she smiles. Other than that, the most valuable tip I’ve learned is always use a skin moisturizer!”

Kristin Davis, who admits to doing damage to her skin in her younger years, will now attest to the importance of sunscreen.

“I’ve done a lot of damage to my skin in the past, which makes me appreciate a great sunscreen now.”

All Things Eyelashes

Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame (who is now a legitimate actress in her own right and arguably the most successful artist to come from the Harry Potter franchise) learned from one of the makeup greats about what to do with an unfortunate mascara smudge.

“Makeup artist Linda Cantello taught me this tip: If you make a mistake with your mascara, dip a cotton ball into some foundation to remove it and conceal at the same time.”

Katherine McPhee refers a proactive approach to warding off excess eye makeup smudges.

“Apply loose powder on top of the foundation under your eyes, so if a little shadow spills, it’s easier to wipe off.”

On the subject of eyelashes, RuPaul shared some unusual beauty tips about false eyelashes.

“Use an eyelash curler before you put the (false) eyelashes on, that will support the lash.”

Isla Fisher has an even more unorthodox method for glamorous eyelashes.

“To make lashes curl better, take a hair dryer to your eyelash curler for one or two seconds before using it.”

Lipstick That Lasts

Taylor Swift has learned the beauty tip that many women struggle to achieve – long-lasting lipstick.

“There are tricks I’ve learned from makeup artists on shoots. They put on the red lipstick, then blot it with a tissue, then they put powder over the tissue and sort of press it onto your lips. Then re-apply. It turns it into a stain that lasts much longer.”

Lipstick can have other uses too, as Jewel will attest.

“I wear lip stain on my cheeks underneath my foundation.”

Staying Slim and Trim

Rihanna has revealed that she prefers aqua sports to keep her slim figure.

“I love swimming, [and doing] anything in the ocean…that’s very, very good for your body.”

Cameron Diaz, on the other hand, has a different exercise regime that she is quick to recommend.

“I guess it’s just exercise, healthy diet, lots of water, lots of laughter, lots of sex–yes, sex.”

Confidence

Surely one of the most important beauty tips to come from celebrities is to be confident with who you are. Lily Collins says that it has taken time for her to learn to accept her flaws.

“Now I embrace them. I’ve realized the quirky things that make you different are what make you beautiful.”
