‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Spoilers: New Love For Damon Salvatore And More Teased
The Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale will air this week, but the writers behind the series are already looking ahead to Season 7. The series will lose two major characters on this week’s finale, and it will be left with Damon and Stefan Salvatore, Caroline Forbes, and Bonnie Bennett as the main cast. There are others involved with the town of Mystic Falls, but those characters are the center of the series and the action on it.
Some spoilers and teasers for The Vampire Diaries Season 7 have been released in the last week, and fans can expect to see a lot to change with the exit of Elena Gilbert. Her exit, no matter how it plays out during the finale, will have a huge impact on those four characters mentioned above. Damon Salvatore will be dealt the biggest blow, but could he find love again?
Kat Graham spoke with Entertainment Weekly, and she was asked about the possibility of a romance between Bonnie and Damon. The pair did spend four months alone together after the other side vanished at the end of last season. A romance between Bonnie and Damon was also a part of the book series that the television series was originally based on.
With Elena gone, could something happen between Bonnie and Damon?
Currently, the pair has an interesting love-hate vibe going on, but that could change after Elena’s exit. Kat Graham is definitely open to the possibility.
“I’m a fan of anything with Ian. I’m hoping that they can explore that really sort of layered relationship. I’ve always been a fan of for them. I’ve never not once shipped my character with an actor or actress on the show. I’m all about exploring characters’ sexuality and stuff like that and I’m hoping that Bonnie, through her new empowerment, will start to discover another side of herself as well, maybe something that hasn’t really been a focus on the show.”
A new relationship would not happen overnight for Damon. If Elena dies on this week’s Vampire Diaries finale, he will have grief and heartache. Could fans see him shut off his own humanity next season? In the world of Mystic Falls, anything can happen. A relationship with Bonnie would take time to develop. Fans of Stefan and Caroline have been waiting since they first showed chemistry together in Season 2 of the series.
As for Caroline and Stefan, a previous Inquisitr report teased that their relationship would definitely solidify during The Vampire Diaries finale. Stefan will make a confession that could bring him and Caroline together.
However, Caroline still has many issues to deal with. She is dealing with the guilt of her actions during her humanity shutdown. One of those actions was the burning of the letter her mother left her. Fans may learn next season what that letter said.
Julie Plec teased that letter in comments to E! Online.
“We do have a pitch on the table for that letter next season. Hopefully this won’t be the last we talk about that letter. Because I want to know what it said too!”
Maybe Bonnie can do some witchy magic to bring the letter back. On the other hand, Caroline’s own mother could possibly reach out from the grave to share her final message with her daughter herself. Anything is possible on this series.
In addition to the main cast, fans will also see more Enzo next season. Julie Plec admitted to fans on Twitter that she dropped the ball when it came to Enzo. His backstory has been revealed in recent episodes, and fans will get to know more about him next season, according to International Business Times.
