Mariah Carey Thanked By Ex Nick Cannon On Mother’s Day, Reminding Fans There’s No Feud Here

Despite rumors that Mariah Carey bashed him on her newest single, Nick Cannon has once again taken the high road.

On Sunday, Carey’s ex-husband shared some love for the mother of his four-year-old twins, posting the above photo on Instagram. The caption alongside the photo read:

Gotta represent for the Mother of my children. She is such a wonderful, thoughtful, festive, loving and nurturing Soul. I will forever be in debt to you for blessing me and the rest of the world with Roc & Roe. A true #Queen Will love you always @MariahCarey #HappyMothersDay

The shout-out to Mariah comes less than two weeks after the blogosphere went bonkers with news that Carey had dissed her ex-husband in her most recent single, “Infinity.” The song was released at the end of April with the following lyrics:

“Why you mad? / Talking about you’re mad? / Could it be that you just lost the best you ever had?… Name hold weight like kilos / Boy you actin’ so corny like Fritos / Wouldn’t have none of that without me, though.”

Soon after blogs and media outlets everywhere equated the lyrics with Cannon, Mariah Carey spoke out, telling the media and fans alike that the song was not about Nick Cannon, but instead was about loving yourself ahead of anyone else. Carey told PEOPLE:

“‘Infinity’ is like love equals you first. There’s a section of the song where it’s like a chant – ‘You’re leaving, you’re leaving, you’re out the door infinity loving me more and more’ – meaning you have to love yourself first, it can’t be all about somebody else’s thing or their issues, it has to be you and then you can deal with the rest of the things in your life.”

Perhaps it doesn’t matter exactly who or what the song is about. Back in December, Cannon made a Twitter vow that he would never diss Mariah Carey, since no matter what, Carey is still the mother of his children.

That’s a vow that Cannon obviously remembered on Mother’s Day as he shared the photo of Mariah hanging out with twins Moroccan and Monroe. Cannon also was recently seen promoting Mariah Carey’s newest album, Mariah Carey #1 to Infinity, further proving that the former couple is on good terms.

Cannon and Mariah Carey were married in 2008 and split in 2014 after six years of marriage. Carey has been in the news quite a bit lately, as she’s recently released the new single and album. In addition, Mariah Carey also opened her new Las Vegas residency earlier this month.
