Bethenny Frankel Ordered To Pay For Jason Hoppy’s Legal Fees

Bethenny Frankel may be a wealthy New York business woman, but just because she managed to create bestselling products and write some awesome books based on her life, she can’t seem to escape her ex-husband. It is no secret that Frankel has regretted getting married, and over two years ago, she filed for divorce because she wanted out. But Bethenny is still fighting the divorce and it is getting costly.

Bethenny Frankel has the money to fight her divorce and pay her legal fees, but Jason Hoppy only makes a little over $100,000 per year. Plus, he lives in New York, so one can imagine that he is not really thrilled about this on-going divorce. Luckily for him, the judge has ruled in his favor and Frankel will have to pay up.

According to a new Radar Online report, Bethenny Frankel has been asked by the judge to pay over $100,000 to cover Jason’s own legal bills. This isn’t the first time that she has been asked to do this. In fact, she has previously made a court-ordered payment of $100,000 to help out Hoppy in this divorce battle.

He “lacks sufficient funds of his own to compensate counsel without depleting his assets,” reads the court papers.

The documents reveal that he paid his former lawyers a total of $307,683, and owed them $86,996.02 as of last year around this time. Since then, he has chosen to get new attorneys to fight his battle against Bethenny Frankel for him, and that meant paying a retainer of $50,000. As of the summer last year, he was gathering debt of almost $250,000.

If he isn’t making any money and Frankel is pulling in the checks from her Skinnygirl empire and her bestselling book, I Suck At Relationships, then it is no wonder that she is being asked to pay for his legal fees. Since Frankel hasn’t talked about her divorce, it is unknown what is keeping this divorce going. They have been fighting for over two years, and the custody battle has been settled.

Bethenny is back on The Real Housewives of New York this season, but she isn’t going to talk a lot about her divorce. According to the Inquisitr, Bethenny has instead been focusing on slamming Sonja Morgan over her business direction. This appears to be Bethenny’s storyline this season.
