Bobbi Kristina Update: Bobby Brown Battles Cissy Houston Over Heroic Measures Despite ‘No Progress,’ Bans Nick Gordon

Bobbi Kristina Brown has been unable to make her own medical decisions since January 31 when she was found unconscious in her home. Initially, Bobby Brown alone controlled her health care. But now Pat Houston (her aunt) and her grandmother Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mother, also have influence, reported TMZ.

Bobbi Kristina has been diagnosed with irreversible, global brain damage. Dependent on life support measures such as a feeding tube, the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney and Bobby has a grim prognosis.

And to Cissy, that means relying on God rather than physicians if a health crisis comes and only medical intervention can save her.

“She’s not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I’m ready for her… I have nothing to do with that. That’s His job.”

The most recent development involved a legal battle over who should control Bobbi Kristina’s estate and medical care, as the Inquisitr reported.

The judge appointed co-guardians Bobby Brown and Pat Houston responsible for making her decisions. David Long-Daniels, Counsel for Pat Houston and Cissy Houston, and Christopher Brown, Counsel for Bobby Brown, issued a statement.

“We are delighted to inform the public that the court has appointed Bobby Brown and Pat Houston as co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown (‘Krissi’). Both Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs.”

With public knowledge of the arguing among family members, both on Whitney Houston’s side and Bobby Brown’s side, many have been concerned about who will take responsibility for paying the medical costs for Krissi. With an eye to that concern, the court announced an additional role for attorney Bedelia Hargrove, who will become the conservator.

“Ms. Hargrove is responsible for Krissi’s assets, including her likeness, rights and legal claims,” according to the legal statement.

This means that it may come down to a battle between Houston’s family, represented by Pat and Cissy, and Bobby Brown’s family.

Brown had requested the court to make him the conservator of her financial affairs, as well as her legal guardian. Instead, the judge has divided guardianship between Bobbi Kristina’s father and her aunt, Pat Houston. Hargrove, the conservator, as noted, is not affiliated with either.

But what does the future hold for the 22-year-old? Can she actually recover?

Cissy Houston was candid in talking with Entertainment Tonight.

“She’s the same, she’s not progressing at all.”

But Bobby does not agree, insisting that Bobbi Kristina is improving and awake, as the Inquisitr reported. A psychiatrist described Brown’s belief that his daughter is watching him as denial.

“At this point, he’s clearly in denial about what’s going on,” said Lawrence Genen MD MBA, a psychiatrist and diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Moreover, said Dr. Genen, Bobby is postponing his grieving by holding onto hope.

“Obviously she is still alive there, but what degree is she really [alive]? And the longer you remain ambiguous, it really does delay the natural grieving process.”

Also holding onto faith that Bobbi Kristina will recover and longing to see her is Nick Gordon, who recently exited rehab for substance abuse, reported People.

“Rehab was a success for Nick. He did very well and cleaned himself up. Now, he just really wants to see Bobbi Kristina,” said an insider aware of the situation.

Since leaving rehab, Gordon has lived with his mother in Florida. Although Michelle Gordon is his birth mother, Nick spent part of his early life as Whitney Houston’s unofficial adopted son before he segued from Bobbi Kristina’s “brother” to her live-in lover in their own home.

But, thus far, Bobby Brown has been firm in keeping Nick away from his daughter.
