‘DWTS’ Spoilers Week 9: Semifinals Dances And Live Results Show Elimination

It’s down to the semifinals on Dancing with the Stars, with just four couples left to compete for the Season 20 Golden Mirror Ball Trophy. Fans will see the remaining celebrities and their professional dance partners perform two dances on Monday night (May 11), followed by another elimination on Tuesday night’s live results show.

Bachelor Chris Soules and Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavek were eliminated last week, and four celebrities advanced to the semi-finals — Nastia Liukin, Riker Lynch, Noah Galloway, and Rumer Willis. According to Buddy TV, the competition will be “intense” on Monday night’s semifinals, with the possibility of Rumer Willis getting another perfect score.

“It should be an intense night of competition. The Chmerkovskiys are masters of the Tango, so Rumer could very easily get another perfect score.”

According to ABC, each remaining couple will perform two full routines including a Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Paso Doble, Contemporary, and Argentine Tango during the Week 9 semifinals. One of the performances will be the Judges’ Choice dance — each couple will be coached by a judge, and there are rumors that at least one of the judges could perform with the couple they coach.

“For the first time ever, each of our judges will coach one couple for a dance — pick their song, dance style and creative. You might even see the judge in the performance! The Judges’ Choice dance will be judged by the three remaining judges and will count towards their overall scores.”

Here’s a breakdown of Monday night’s dances:

Judges’ Choice Performances

  • Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough with Len Goodman
  • Riker Lynch and Allison Holker with Julianne Hough
  • Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess with Carrie Ann Inaba
  • Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy with Bruno Tonioli

Individual Dances

  • Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy — Argentine Tango
  • Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess — Viennese Waltz
  • Riker Lynch and Allison Holker — Contemporary
  • Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough — Quickstep

WetPaint reports that Sasha Farber will dance in place of Derek for the individual dance performance, but Derek is scheduled to dance in the Judges’ Choice dance.

On Tuesday’s live results show, one of the four couples will be eliminated, but not before fans are entertained with a performance by Flo Rida; a dance routine dedicated to the women of the U.S. military; and a jazz routine set to the single “Gotta Be Me” from the Disney Channel’s Teen Beach 2. To note, Teen Beach 2 stars Riker’s brother, Ross Lynch.

Watch the DWTS semifinals starting at 8 p.m. ET on May 11 and the Live Results Show on May 12. Finals Week begins the following week, with performances scheduled for May 18 (8 – 9 p.m.), and the live finale set to air Tuesday, June 19 at 9 p.m.
