Pep Guardiola Leaving Bayern Munich To Manage Manchester City [Breaking]

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has been highly criticized this season for his stubborn tactics. According to a report from beIN Sports’s Arabic Twitter account, City supporters won’t have to worry about the Chilean manager much longer, as they have reported that current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester City.

Pellegrini, meanwhile, has seen his side concede the Premier League title to Chelsea, be eliminated from the FA cup by Championship opposition Middlesbrough, and left humiliated by FC Barcelona in Europe.

This news comes as a surprise, seeing as Pep Guardiola has insisted repeatedly that he will work in Munich until the end of next summer when his contract ends.

Then again, Guardiola’s failure this season might see Bayern fans happy to show him the door. In addition, the recent internal conflicts at Bayern, which led to the recent decision of the team doctor of 40 years’ standing to walk out of the club, hints at the sort of unrest which might convince Guardiola to move on.

Also, Guardiola’s sideline spat with Thomas Müller must have greatly damaged the team’s spirit.

Though Guardiola’s two Bayern Munich teams have won the Bundesliga, the manner in which they did so was not convincing to say the least. This hurt the team’s ability to stay in form and be ready for the important European matches.

This was shown just a few days ago, when Munich lost 3-0 to Barcelona, making Bayern’s chances of reaching the UEFA Champions League final slim.

Bayern Munich has been saved this season by stellar defense, having only given up 15 goals this year in the Bundesliga. The offensive part of the squad is where they have been lacking.

Pep Guardiola’s success overall cannot be doubted. Since 2008, Guardiola has won five league titles and two Champions Leagues in his time with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The report emanates via Qatari-owned sports media giant Bein Sports, who claim that the former Barcelona manager has agreed to join City in time for the 2015-16 season. Also, Richard Keys, a beIN Sports pundit, who is currently based in the Middle East, tweeted believing that Guardiola will go to Man City.

Keys also claims that Manchester City have an interest in signing Paul Pogba, a French midfielder from Juventus.

NBC Sports’ Kyle Martino tweeted that NBC had reached out to Pep’s agent and received no comment, only to delete the tweet moments later.

City have yet to confirm this managerial change or their interest in Paul Pogba.
