‘Big Bang Theory’ Season Finale Signaled Major Relationship Changes? [Spoilers]

The Big Bang Theory season finale is usually always a big cliffhanger which promises to change everything. One season had Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) getting married just before taking off for the international space station, and another had the question thrown around about where Sheldon (Jim Parsons) would live after Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) got married.

If you haven’t seen it by now, you should probably click on another article here on the Inquisitr, since this one is riddled with spoilers. If you don’t mind, read on.

You were warned.

If you’ve been following the show through it’s so-far eight-year span, you know that the relationship between Leonard Hofstadter and Penny has gone from an almost hopeless crush to her finally admitting he’s the best she’ll ever have. We have spent the majority of the past year waiting for them to follow in the footsteps of Howard and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) and make it final.

The Big Bang Theory season finale this year seems to have left the show’s second marriage with problems once more. While Leonard and Penny are driving to Las Vegas to get married, he brings up a kiss with another woman that raises Penny’s ire, particularly due to why he would bring it up right then.

This isn’t the only relationship that appears to be off to a rocky evolution, as Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Byalik) have another kiss, which he interrupts with the question of whether or not he should watch The Flash. This angers Amy, who returns at the end of the episode in a video call where she calls off the relationship. This triggers a tear-jerking moment where Sheldon opens his desk and takes out an engagement ring, asking a Gollum statue, “You’re an expert on rings. What do I do with this one?”

Another relationship on the rocks by the Big Bang Theory season finale is that of Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Emily (Laura Spencer). It’s getting noticeable that Emily’s adventurous spirit is leaving him a little uncomfortable, and he could be potentially joining Sheldon in his single status once more.

Being uncomfortable is a similar problem for Howard and Bernadette, but not with each other. The two want to evict their roommate Stuart (Kevin Sussman), who moved in at the request of Howard’s mother, who like the actress playing the role, passed away this season. The problem is that they’re having a hard time finding a way to tell him.

Could Sheldon and Amy make a comeback like everybody else on the show? Could Raj and Emily make it work as well? Only the writers know for sure after the latest Big Bang Theory season finale.
